Current Programs
Exhibitions
Nine shows of local, regional and national artists' works are
displayed in the Captain White House Sister Galleries each year,
and six shows of local artists are presented in the Paramount
Theatre Lobby and the Mebane Arts & Community Center.
Permanent Collection
The Council purchases works of art each year and adds them
to their permanent collection. These works are then loaned to
area governmental agencies and businesses for display in public
areas.
Gift Shop
Local and regional artists' works are sold year-round in the
Council's gift shop located in the Captain White House. The
Council receives a 30% commission on the sale of these works.
Scholarships
The Council awards a minimum of four scholarships each year
to graduating seniors who wish to pursue higher education in
music, art, drama or dance.
Partnerships
The Council partners with other area organizations to produce
concerts, exhibitions and other arts happenings throughout the
county. "Clay Street After Work" is an example of such a partnership.
Travel
Cultural art adventure trips are designed to allow Alamance
County residents exposure to art that cannot be experienced
at home.
